PreView
PreView is the entry point to AFS. Specifically designed for students finishing Suzuki book 1 and working in Book 2, PreView provides early orchestra training and sight-reading skills development in a group setting. This is where you learn to follow a conductor, work in a group, and read independent parts. This is often the first (or a very early) experience with different instruments in the same room (violin, viola and cello together).
The schedule for PreView is the same as InSight (8:30 am. to 5:00 p.m.) PreView goes with InSight for community service concerts, and performs on the Friday large ensembles concert. Descant is required, but evening events are not.
Please note: Students must be at least 7 years old, and students ages 7 and 8 must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
PreView Includes:
- Group Classes
- Theory and music-reading games
- Dalcroze Eurythmics movement classes
- Community Service performances
- Descant (morning worship/hymn-singing)
- Making new friends
- Playing music together
